Who We Are
Decades of Commitment
1965
Founded in 1965 by Philip H. McNamee, VPM Management, Inc. began as a full-service residential property management company with a focus on managing single-family homes.
1970s
By the late 1970s, the company expanded its portfolio to include over 1,300 homes.
1978
In 1978, Scott J. Barker took over supervision of VPM and diversified its services to manage garden-style apartment communities. Starting with a 64-unit complex in Anaheim, VPM has since managed more than 15,000 apartment units across California over the past 45 years.
1997
In 1997, VPM began specializing in managing affordable apartment communities created under the IRS Section 42 program. Today, VPM is recognized for its expertise in ensuring these communities remain compliant with various affordability agreements.
Present
Today, VPM manages over 75 affordable and market-rate communities, totaling more than 9,000 apartment homes throughout California. With a dedicated team of professionals, we manage properties for over 300 individual owners, including limited partnerships, tenants in common, and community associations. Our centralized approach to property management fosters a community-oriented environment, providing exceptional service to residents and maximizing owners’ return on investment.
